From the heart of Uganda, where the pulsating rhythms of African culture blend with timeless hymns of devotion, emerges the extraordinary musical group, Jehovah Shalom Acapella-Uganda. This six-member Gospel group stands out for their exceptional talent and steadfast dedication to their faith and their God.

Established in 2006 during their high school days, the group’s members began their collective musical journey as part of a larger choir. Motivated by other celebrated African Acapella ensembles, Asaph the Basser proposed the concept of forming an acapella group. Asaph also composed some of their original tracks. The pioneering quartet consisted of Asaph, Wasswa Amos, Kato, and Elijah. Later, Joseph and Wasswa James augmented the ensemble, culminating in the world renowned Jehovah Shalom Acapella-Uganda.

Their harmonious renditions became a profound medium, expressing messages of hope, salvation, and God’s boundless love.

Throughout the years, Jehovah Shalom Acapella has been graced with numerous opportunities to showcase their music and spiritual beliefs across a myriad of platforms: from churches to corporate events, camp meetings to weddings. Notably, they had the distinct honor of opening for the ‘Princess of Africa’, the celebrated South African singer-songwriter Yvonne Chakachaka. Their soul-stirring performances have been embraced locally and captivated hearts all around the world.

The accolades they’ve garnered are a testament to their amazing talent. Among these are a coveted Golden Buzzer and a spot as finalists in East Africa’s Got Talent, two Hipipo Music Awards, and Viga Awards.

Unified in their membership with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, their brotherly  bond emanates from a shared love for God. Their dedication extends to not only crafting exquisite music but also serving their community.

The group has contributed to their community by fundraising for church constructions, supporting local nonprofit initiatives, and providing meals and basic necessities to families experiencing homelessness, and those living in slums.
